No joy, in fact now even though in fact the computer does continues to run when AC power is disconnected, the taskbar also says 'Battery not installed,' and shows a plug symbol instead of the previous blue battery symbol. The battery-indicating LED (just below the screen), however, does correctly show that a battery is present and working.If by 'hotkeys' you mean the blue Fn options, all of mine do still work (except the one with the battery symbol.) So I guess I need some other ideas.
