It is not necessary to have an original Falcon 4.0 CD to play it.Just download it and install it. The problem is that FreeFalcon 5.0 isn't really stable (Depends a lot on your config actually.) when compared to Falcon 4.0 AF. And it's not always possible to apply the anti-aliasing.But the graphics are in my opinion 2-3 years ahead of F4 AF, and the level of realism is, in my opinion, just second to OpenFalcon.And I suggest you to download the F4 Logreader; every Falcon 4.0 version that I played had problems with recognizing if you had consecutive missions. For example, on some missions, you lose an AI wingman, then make it back home, but your logbook shows that your number of consecutive missions is reset to zero, so getting the Air Force Longevity Service Award for 100 consecutive missions is nearly impossible.See you. As well as realism remarks, F-16 is a military combat aircraft so simulation makers can have diffirent views at what is real or not but do not know the actual reality. So, everything is relative and both F4:AF and other derivations of Falcon 4.0 are enough realistic for medium to high skilled simulation fans.To my opinion huge benefits of Falcon 4.0 Allied Force are:1. It is the only one complete, official stock boxed simulation set on the market. You do not have do download something from you do not know where, and do not know when it will start crashing. Read through Open Falcon forum, people are getting 15! Fps with such graphics cards like ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 (!) while F4:AF pushes from the lowest of 37 and all the way up to 83 in maximum resolutions and maximum graphics settings. Sorry gyus, people pay for expensive hardware aiming for appropriate performance instead of self-assurances like 'It is neverless the most realistic instead'.2.

All patches, Hitiles, Ayes widescreen cockpits, widescreen loading and debriefing files are applied very easily with a simple installer. I don't understand those complaining about bad graphics of Falcon 4.0:Allied Force, in order to get really great graphics you need a good PC capable of running a 1650x1050 32 Bit or even bigger resolution, buy and install Hitiles, Aeyes widescreen cockpits for all flyable F-16s as well as widescreen loading/debriefing files.This comparison is also unfair, since there is a trick to install the HiTiles in FreeFalcon too, and if my memory is good, the Aeyes cockpits too. And check the quality of the units on the ground and the airplanes and the average FPS; FreeFalcon has a very optimized graphic engine. I play with a Core 2 Duo E6600 and a GeForce 8800GS, with a resolution of 1280x1024, and I get about 50 FPS at the FLOT.F4AF is good for stability, but that's all. I have tried an Open Falcon once and decided not to go in for any custom modifications any longer. Quality of the units is nothing in the terms of extremely fast pace of Falcon's war - you barely have time to work with F-16 systems during air combat.And when you have a product, that is easy to install, easy to patch, easy to apply upgrades, that works best with the latest hardware so you know, if you want to load a Tactical Engagement - it will load, as well as Campaign, Dogfight or any other mode - then I stay and stick with the product.As for other flyable aircraft in FF - they are not worth even looking at, as each one has the same F-16 physics.
